Why Denture Visage cannot advertise prices or provide over the Phone Quotes

Frequently, we have people asking Denture Visage to advertise a price list or range on Facebook or through other media. We also regularly have people contacting us asking for a price for their new denture, or other work, to be provided over the phone. We're more than happy to tell you the cost of your first appointment with us, if you wish, however dentures have many variables, which make it almost impossible for us to be sure of what your new smile will cost without seeing you. The last thing we want to do is advise you of a price over the phone that will be either substantially less than the reality, or much more than it really will be. When you telephone us, we will always invite you to attend your first appointment with Nathaniel. That appointment will take between 30 minutes, up to about 45 minutes. Nathaniel will need to look inside your mouth to assess your oral health, and to diagnose anything that might need to be diagnosed. If you have no teeth at all, this is still a vital part of the process. Why? Nathaniel needs to make sure that your gums are healthy, that there are no issues such as oral thrush, ulcers, or at worst, pathology present that could be something far more sinister. Most people are fairly healthy, but the mouth is one of the first places that cancers will show visible signs.  In this process, Nathaniel will also be able to determine a treatment plan that will give you the best possible outcome. Sometimes, that means relining your existing denture, other times, it means you may need a completely new denture.  But he can only identify that for sure once he has seen you and your dentures.As for publishing our prices, all dentists are heavily governed in their advertising by two regulatory bodies - Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency https://www.ahpra.gov.au/ and the Dental Board of Australia http://www.dentalboard.gov.au/. Both of these authorities preclude all dentists from advertising prices, offering free consultations, and a variety of other matters. Some dental practices opt to disregard these rules, and are happy to wear fines associated with that behaviour. At Denture Visage, we believe that adherence to professional rules is part of our professional standard of behaviour - you cannot pick and choose what rules you are bound by when you are a health practitioner, and we uphold these values and abide by them with pride.  This forms part of our high standard of care, and high standard of behaviour.
